We are an all ages, all genders support and social group. We meet every 3rd Thursday of the month at The Kansas City Center for Inclusion.
Anyone under the transgender umbrella, questioning, or an ally is welcome! Your identity will be respected.
Transas City SOFFA (Significant Others, Family, Friends and Allies) of Transgender and Non-Binary Persons is a support group for those close to someone who is or feels they may be transgender or transsexual. Please note that in order to encourage open communication about concerns and questions, SOFFA meetings are restricted to non-transpersons. We do have several socials during the year for the whole family to attend (if they wish to).
We meet twice monthly, on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 6.30 – 8.00 at Johnson County Library meeting rooms. Our aim is to help people handle their feelings, fears, hopes and learn to deal with the changes in their relationships, to help them adjust and to learn how to support their transgender/gender nonbinary person. After most meetings, we go across to the Starbucks in Barnes & Noble across from Leawood Pioneer Library to chat further.
